3. Virat Kohli – 82* vs Australia (2016)

Over the years India have developed a rivalry with Australia in the T20 World Cups started from 2007. In 2016, India once again faced Kangaroos in the group game. This time Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Due to a disciplined effort of the Indian bowlers, Australia could manage 160/6 in their 20 overs. India lost their openers early in the chase, and the target suddenly looked big. However, the chase master Virat Kohli had other ideas as the Run Machine went on to play one of the finest T20 innings of 82 not out off 51 balls to take India home with 5 deliveries remaining.

2. Virat Kohli – 89* vs West Indies (2016)

India faced West Indies in the semifinal of 2016 T20 World Cup. India were asked to bat first after losing the toss. India had a solid start as the openers added 62 runs for the first wicket. After the fall of the first wicket, Virat Kohli entered the game. He was in a sublime form during the 2016 edition of the T20 World Cup. Kohli played a masterful knock off unbeaten 89 runs off 47 deliveries. Unfortunately, West Indies powerful batting chased down the total of 192 runs set by India to knock India out of the tournament. The knock is 2nd in the list of highest individual scores for India in the T20 World Cup.

1. Suresh Raina – 101 vs South Africa (2010)

India faced South Africa in a must-win group game during the 2010 T20 World Cup. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, India lost Murali Vijay early in the innings. Suresh Raina came out to bat at number 3 and went on to score a century for the country. He played a knock of 101 runs off 60 deliveries and helped India to post a total of 186 runs. India went on to win the game by 14 runs. It was the first and only century any Indian batsman has scored in the T20 World Cup so far.
