6,4,6,6- Dinesh Karthik goes after Monu Singh in SMAT 2021- WATCH

Tamil Nadu skipper Dinesh Karthik is someone who is known for his finishing capabilities. After being out of form in the IPL 2020, he came back to form in the first match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He came into bat in the later part of the innings and smashed Jharkhand seamer Monu Singh for four boundaries including three massive sixes in a single over.

Dinesh Karthik hits Monu Singh for fun

During the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand, the Tamil Nadu skipper Dinesh Karthik was at his absolute best. He once again showed how good a finisher he is. In total he scored 46 runs from just 17 balls involving three fours and four sixes. The most entertaining part of his innings came in the 18th over of the match. Jharkhand seamer Monu Singh was the bowler who was at the receiving end. Karthik started his onslaught from the third ball. He whacked the ball towards the leg side for a massive six and later followed it up with a boundary and two massive sixes to the exact same location.

Riding on this massive over he ended up with a score of 46 from 17 balls before getting runout.

Hari Nishant steals the show

Apart from Karthik, the main man who owned the first innings was Tamil Nadu opener Hari Nishant. He remained not out on 92 runs from 64 balls. With his elegant stroke play and timely exploits he caught everyone’s attention. His exploits included three sixes and eight fours. His innings helped Tamil Nadu to post an above par score of 191 runs at Eden Gardens.

Jharkhand who came out to chase lost their captain Ishan Kishan quite early on in the innings. Sandeep Warrior was the bowler who provided early breakthrough for Tamil Nadu.
