Adelaide Strikers won the inaugural match of BBL 2018 by 5 wickets against Brisbane Heat. Bowling first, Rashid Khan spun his web to take three crucial wickets. Billy Stanlake and M Short also took two wickets each to restrict Heat at 146. Alex Carey was at his attacking best in the chase scoring 70 runs to lead his team to victory. They will hope to continue the winning momentum ahead in the tournament.

Melbourne Renegades won their match against Perth Scorchers by 4 wickets. Bowling first, K Richardson and D Christian took three wickets each while J Wildermuth and Usman Khan took two wickets each to restrict Scorchers at 103. Handy Knocks by Sam Harper and M Nabi ensured comfortable chase of the target in 15 overs. They will hope to give a tough challenge to Adelaide Strikers on their home ground.

Peter Siddle has joined the Test team and will not play tomorrow’s encounter. Harry Nielsen has been added to the squad as a replacement for Travis Head.

Cameron Valente can be a like-to-like replacement for Peter Siddle. For an extra spinner, Liam O’Connor can also play.

Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald will open the innings. Colin Ingram, Matthew Short, Jon Wells and Jake Lehmann will follow them.

Ben Laughlin, M Neser and Billy Stanlake will spearhead the pace attack while Rashid Khan and Colin Ingram will be the key spinners.

Melbourne Renegades:

They have also announced 13 men squad for the match. Joe Mennie is added to the squad in place of Chris Tremain.

Joe Mennie can replace Will Sutherland as he cannot bowl due to fitness issue and is batting way down the order.

Jack Wildermuth/Cameron White and Tim Ludeman can open the innings.

Tom Cooper, Mohammad Nabi, Dan Christian and Jack Wildermuth will play the role of allrounders.
