Afghanistan has earned respect around the world cricket after its consistent and mind-blowing performances in all cricket formats. Afghanistan next will be seen facing Ireland head in their individual test match that is to start from March 15th at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uttarakhand.
An unstoppable performance by Afghanistan in T20 series against Ireland with 3-0 clean sweep, followed by five ODI matches. Ireland managed to level the ODI series 2-2 by winning the last game with five wickets margin. One game between them was interrupted by the rain. Strong spin attack by Afghans has made things difficult for Irish. It’s a five-day debut for Irish men against their opponent Afghanistan in Dehradoon.
A brilliant unbeaten knock of 145 by Andrew Balbirni helped Irish to draw the ODI series against Afghans, and he is expected to deliver the same blow in the test clash. Well, both the teams are not much familiar with the test format. This would be the second time when both the teams will be seen wearing the white jersey.
Two uncapped bowlers, Left-arm spinner Zahin Khan and medium fast bowler Sayed Shirzad are called up as another option for one of the tests against Ireland. Rashid Khan is the imperative players for his team, and he will undoubtedly make Irish struggle to the core in their test contest.
