At the time when everyone is busy picking their best XI of the decade, Aussie great Jason Gillespie has named two Indian pacers as one of the most exciting combinations in the present day. According to Gillespie, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami 2.0 are the two quicks he enjoys watching the most.

Jasprit Bumrah who is one of the most lethal pacers and death over specialists in the world has picked 62 wickets in just 12 test matches at an impressive average of 19.24. He was out of the field for a couple of months following an injury and is ready to all guns blazing against Sri Lanka in the T20I series that starts from Sunday.

Along with Bumrah, Mohammad Shami has been in red hot form in the last two years across all formats. Mohammed Shami finished as the leading wicket-taker in ODIs in 2019 with 42 wickets from 21 games.

Here’s what Gillespie said –

“India have a fantastic attack. I think there are some wonderful pace attacks in the world at the moment. I particularly enjoy watching Australia and India’s pace attacks. It’s tough to go past (Mitchell) Starc, (Josh) Hazlewood and (Pat) Cummins in my opinion. However, what I can say is that Bumrah and Shami is one of the most exciting bowling combinations in the world,”

Jason Gillespie also praised Indian skipper Virat Kohli for showing full trust in their bowlers and allowing them to bowl according to their plans. He further said-

“Kohli is great. He is a leader who backs and trusts his quick bowlers.”

India’s first assignment in the New Year is a 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The first T20I will be played in Guwahati on January 05, Sunday followed with second in Indore on January 07, Tuesday and third in Pune on January 10, Friday.

India squad for Sri Lanka T20Is-
