English Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Butler has heaped high praise on Indian opener, Rohit Sharma. During an Instagram Live Session on Rajasthan Royals page, Jos Butler lauded Rohit Sharma’s effortless batting style and his ability to play big innings.

What did Jos Butler Say?

According to the English wicketkeeper, Rohit Sharma can take down oppositions single-handedly due to his ability to settle down and score big hundreds.

During the Instagram Live session, Butler said –

Rohit Sharma I think is an awesome player,” said Buttler during an Instagram live session on Rajasthan Royals page. “Effortless. Quite a lot of Indian players have that awesome style

In case you don’t know, Butler has watched the Hitman closely as he shared the Mumbai Indians dressing room with Rohit in 2016 and 2017.

Praising Rohit Butler further said –

One of the things I have seen with Rohit is that if he gets in, he scores big runs and really affects the game. He must have scored 4-5 hundreds in the World Cup last year.

Jos Butler also spoke about using the short ball tactics against Rohit and other Indian batsmen. Indian batsmen traditionally were understood relatively vulnerable against the short ball and opposition bowlers used to resort to the short ball tactics against them.

The effortless nature in which he can take players down; he is a really good player with the short ball as well. It’s not really the case now, but I think a few years ago people used to attack Indian players with the short ball but Rohit smashes them. Then you go fuller and he smashes them right down the ground.

He has been fantastic for a long time and I just like the way he bats and the effortless nature in which he takes people down.

Jos Butler concluded.
