Dhaka Platoon injury updates and unavailability

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise the Dhaka Platoon have received a massive blow ahead of their clash against the Chattogram Challengers on December 18th.

The swashbuckling left-hand opener Tamim Iqbal will be unavailable for the next fixture which is also the port city phase opener.

Apart from the batsman, the Dhaka Platoon are also scratching their heads over the unavailability of star pacer Wahab Riaz who has flown back to Pakistan to attend the wedding anniversary of his sister. He is expected to join the team once the BPL action shifts its base to Dhaka again.

Team manager Ahsanullah Hasan stated, “Wahab left after the Dhaka phase to attend the wedding ceremony of his sister. He is expected to arrive once we get back to Dhaka”

Tamim suffering from viral fever

The opening batsman is suffering from viral fever and did not travel with the team to Chattogram where the Platoons are scheduled to face the home side.

“I don’t think he will be fit to play our next match but we are hoping that he will be available in the following match,” said team manager Ahsanullah Hasan.

For precautionary measures, Tamim stayed in the Apollo Hospital for one night and isn’t expected to get fit overnight.

Dhaka Platoon so far in the tournament

The Platoons started their campaign on a disappointing note as they were taken down by Rajshahi Royals by 9 wickets. However, they made an impressive comeback by registering two back-to-back wins over Cumilla Warriors and Sylhet Thunder by 20 and 24 runs respectively.

Their next two encounters are against Chattogram Challengers and Cumilla Warriors on 18th and 23rd December respectively, and both these matches will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
