Brisbane Heat finally achieved their first victory after three consecutive losses. They defeated Perth Scorchers by 5 wickets. Bowling first, Mujeeb was the standout bowler for Heat taking two wickets and leaking just 10 runs in his four-over spell. B Cutting also took two wickets to restrict Scorchers at 135. Handy knocks from Chris Lynn, Joe Burns and Ben Cutting ensured comfortable chase of the target. They will hope to continue the momentum and improve their position in points table.

Sydney Thunder is fifth on the points table with three wins and three losses. They lost their last match to Melbourne Stars by 8 wickets. Batting first, They could only score 135 runs thanks to attacking cameo of 42 runs from Daniel Sams. Defending the target, Fawad Ahmed and Daniel Sams were the only positive able to take one wicket each but could not save the team from a disappointing loss. They will hope for a responsible performance from batsmen in upcoming matches.

Marnus Labuschagne is free from national duty and can directly come in the playing XI because of his ability to bowl leg-spin. Matt Renshaw or Joe Burns can make way for Marnus Labuschagne.

Max Bryant and B McCullum can open the innings. Chris Lynn, M Labuschagne, Joe Burns/Matt Renshaw and James Peirson will follow them. Ben Cutting will play the role of finisher.

Ben Cutting, Josh Lalor, B Doggett and James Pattinson will be the key pacers while Mujeeb will lead the spin attack.

They have announced 13-men squad for the match. Jay Lenton is replaced by Arjun Nair in the squad.

Shane Watson and Jos Buttler will open the innings. Callum Ferguson, Joe Root and Jason Sangha will follow them. Daniel Sams will do the big hitting for them.
