Chetan Chauhan tests positive for COVID-19

The Corona Virus pandemic refuses to cease down in India. When the rest of the world is recovering and on the the way back to normalcy India continues to suffer. The union health ministry on Saturday reported that the single largest spike in number of Covid-19 cases raised yet again to 27,114 from Friday morning to Saturday morning.

Chetan Chauhan is infected with the virus

Former Indian opening batsman Chetan Chauhan was on Saturday night confirmed that he was indeed affected by the Corona Virus. He has been admitted in Sanjay Gandhi PGI hospital in Lucknow and is undergoing treatment for corona virus. Chetan Chauhan’s family members will undergo COVID-19 tests and they have been put under home quarantine for now. Chetan Chauhan is among the first former cricketer from India who has been found positive for the virus. He is currently a minister in the cabinet of the UP government under CM Yogi Adithyanath.

Chauhan – A gritty customer

Former cricketer Chetan Chauhan was a gritty opening batsman who partnered up with the legendary Sunil Gavaskar in his playing days. He represented India in 40 tests and 7 ODIs. He made 16 half centuries and has added over 3000 runs at the top along with Sunil Gavaskar.

Chetan Chauhan made loads of runs representing Mumbai as well as UP in his playing days in Ranji Trophy. The opener was lauded for his grit and determination while opening the batting and Cricketers wished and hoped he would show a similar trait to recover from the virus.
