Colombo and Galle are set to battle it out in the final of the Super Provincial ODI Series tomorrow. The two teams emerged as the top 2 teams among the 4 teams contesting the tournament. Galle topped the table after 3 matches as they have 12 points, 1 more than Colombo.

The Preview

Galle and Colombo will have a rematch of the 6th match of the Super Provincial ODI tournament. However, it will be the final this time and it can not end without a result. Earlier, the match between two teams was abandoned due to rain and there was no result.

The tournament which was launched with the objective of finding the best players for the upcoming ICC World Cup, has been dominated by Galle and Colombo. It would make sense if we see most of their players on the plane to England in a month’s time.

Meanwhile, both the teams will be keen to finish the tournament on a high by winning it. Galle have seen their captain Lasith Malinga fly to India for the Indian Premier League but he is expected to be back for the final after playing tonight’s IPL match. Malinga has been instrumental in his team’s results as he has picked up wickets for fun in the tournament. Notably, he had picked up 7 wickets in his first match after flying out from IPL just a day before the fixture.
