Auckland will be taking on Canterbury as both sides look to register their first wins in the Sumer Smash T20. In the first game against Otago, Auckland had to chase a mammoth target of 211 in the second innings. A quickfire 46 from 18 deliveries by Martin Guptill followed by a knock of 106 from 61 balls by Glenn Phillips guided Auckland to 197 for the fall of five wickets as they lost the game by 13 runs.
Meanwhile, Canterbury was on the receiving end of a comprehensive six-wicket by the hands of Wellington. Canterbury was bundled out for 129 as Wellington chased down the target with relative ease.

Jack Boyle looked promising with the bat while opening the innings for Canterbury and could prove to be vital in the upcoming game.
