“Dhoni can retire whenever he wants to,” says Virender Sehwag

Ever since the former Indian captain MS Dhoni was left out from the centrally contracted players list by BCCI, there were lots of speculations about Dhoni’s future in the Indian team.

The legendary opener when asked about Dhoni’s snub from the contract list said that he was expecting about the news and the selectors have influenced BCCI to not select Dhoni in the team which resulted in the exclusion of Dhoni’s name in the contract list
Virender Sehwag said,
“”Selectors have probably made up their mind that they will not select MS Dhoni. So BCCI also made its mind

The grades are created by selectors and they might have thought that since they will not pick Dhoni, it will be ideal to include him. It’s correct. It’s a clear message for MS that you can call it quits whenever you feel like”

Not surprised with Dhoni’s snub
The world cup winner also said that he was not at all surprised by seeing the exclusion of Dhoni from the contract list as he didn’t played even a single international game for India since world cup.
“No. Not at all he hasn’t played any form of cricket since World Cup 2019 so no surprises here. He has retired from Tests, they don’t play him in one-days and there’s only one format left. It isn’t also confirmed whether they would play him again.”

Dhoni started training
The former Indian world cup winning captain Dhoni has recently started to train with his state Ranji team Jharkhand which made the fans go crazy. It was an indication that Dhoni is trying to get in shape and get the rhythm for the all important IPL where he will be captaining Chennai Super Kings.
