These two top teams in the Women’s cricket are squaring off against each other in a short three-match ODI series which shall last over six days. In the first match, South African women defeated the English team easily and carved up a seven-wicket win.

English women won the toss and chose to bat first. The start was disastrous and they were soon reduced to 39/4 and then collapsed to 97/8. It was Katherine Brunt’s brilliant 72 that took England-W to a respectable score of 189/9. Later Anya Shrubsole took two wickets for 36.

Shabnim Ismail bowled an exceptional spell of 3/25 in 10 overs with two maidens. Khaka supported her with 3/42. In batting, it was Lizelle Lee who scored a not out 92. Niekerk and Du Preez took the team across the finish line.
