Hello and Welcome to our preview for the England vs Windies ODI match. We are covering ENG vs WI Dream 11 team Prediction, Preview and Probable Playing XI for the first ODI match. The match is to be played at the Kensington Oval, Barbados.

Windies defeating England in the Test series was a shocker but if they can replicate it in the ODI series, it will be a mega-shocker. Let’s put it this way – England is the overwhelming favourite to win the World Cup and Windies qualified for the World Cup thanks to a bad umpiring decision. Yet after the performance in the Tests, Windies has a reason to be confident.

England will be testing the options before it announces its World Cup squad. Pace bowlers will be rotated to check the bench strength while the batting looks set. They are currently the number one team in the world and will want to seal the series 5-0. Joe Root has a full-strength squad at his disposal.

Windies look determined in Test cricket and natural in T20I cricket but they are struggling in the ODIs. Against India, they were competitive in the first three ODIs. Next two matches were surrendered. The return of Chris Gayle will boost their confidence. Still, Windies will have to be at their best to defeat this English team.

The probable XI is how England’s strongest team looks like. They may use the reserves for trials.

Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow should be opening the inning for England. Joe Root and Eoin Morgan will follow them.

Ben Stokes will be the pace all-rounder in the middle order. Jos Buttler shall don the gloves and will bat at number six.

Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid shall be the spin pair with Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes forming a the pace attack.

This leaves Tom Curran, Joe Denly and Alex Hales in the reserves.

Windies:

Windies are missing Evin Lewis, Keemo Paul and Rovman Powell. John Campbell, Sheldon Cottrell and Carlos Brathwaite replace them.

Chris Gayle will be opening the inning without a doubt. His partner is most likely to be Nicholas Pooran. There are some chance that J Campbell can also play.

Shai Hope will bat at no. 3rd position. Daren Bravo should be batting at number four. Shimron Hetmyer is likely to appear after him.

Jason Holder and Carlos Brathwaite will be the pace all-rounders.

Ashley Nurse may remain the sole spinner, Kemar Roach and Oshane Thomas or Sheldon Cottrell forming the pace battery.

Campbell may get a shot at the opening slot after impressive Test series. That shall keep Pooran out of the team.
