India’s premier first-class tournament Ranji Trophy’s 85th edition will begin from tomorrow and end in February 2019. Teams competing in the tournament has been increased from 29 to 37. The tournament will be a treat to watch for Indian cricket fans. Baroda and Gujarat will fight in the Inaugural match of Ranji Trophy 2018-19.

Gujarat won Ranji Trophy Season 2016-17 under the leadership of Parthiv Patel. They also played well last season but were knocked out in the Quarter Final. They will hope to get a good start tomorrow and make an early impact in the tournament.

Baroda has been five-time champions of Ranji Trophy but have lost their glory from past few seasons. They will hope to come strong this season and give tough challenge to their opponents. Krunal Pandya will not play as he is on national duty and preparing for T20I series against Windies.

Kedar Devdhar, Aditya Waghmode and Yusuf Pathan will be the key batsmen. Vishnu Solanki, Deepak Hooda and Swapnil Singh will play the role of an all-rounder.

Atit Sheth, L Meriwala and Babashafi Pathan will be the key pacers while Vishnu Solanki, D Hooda and Swapnil Singh will be the key spinners.

Gujarat:

One among pacers Mehul Patel or Rush Kalaria will play.

Parthiv Patel, P Panchal, B Merai and C Gandhi will be the key batsman. Rujul Bhatt and Piyush Chawla will play the role of all-rounder.

C Gaja will lead the pace attack along with Mehul Patel or Rush Kalaria. While Piyush Chawla, Siddharth Desai and Rujul Bhatt will be the key spinners for the team.
