One of the prolific openers in the last decade or so across all the formats of the game in David Warner sustained an injury during the 2nd ODI game and was ruled out for 3rd ODI and the T20I series along with the first two test matches.

The test series is tied at 1-1 and fans couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the year 2020 as they ended up seeing one of the best test matches in recent times as the last game of 2020.

David Warner to help Australia take a lead

Australia will have the services of David Warner for the 3rd game in Sydney where he will slot in the place of the struggling Joe Burns at the top of the order. David Warner is a beast in Australian conditions irrespective of the format and he has insane numbers in Sydney in test matches.

The southpaw has played 13 games and scored 752 runs including 3 half centuries and 4 centuries. He averages 66 with a strike rate of 89 which makes him doubly dangerous. Australia struggled in the last 2 games to score at a quick rate and the return of David Warner will be an immense boost to that Australian setup.

David Warner can take the attack to the opposition and upset the rhythm of the Indian bowlers in no time. This aspect of the game went missing from the Australians in the last 2 games where they went into a shell.

Australia have the upper hand

Though, India cameback into the series from nowhere after getting all out for 36 in Adelaide, the 3rd test can very well turn out to be a one way traffic because India have lost almost half of their 1st choice to injuries.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav are all either injured or not available due to personal reasons and now that Australia have got David Warner back, Australia are mighty favorites to take an unassailable lead in the 4 match test series.
