Indian cricketer Washington Sundar impressed everyone with his batting skills during ongoing Australia vs India Test at Brisbane. The left-hander batsman played some glorious strokes and also showed solid defense. However, it was his incredible six against Nathan Lyon that has stunned everyone the most.  Sundar deposited Lyon into the mid-wicket stands with a sensational stroke and importantly he didn’t even look at the ball after playing the stroke.

Sundar slog sweeps Lyon for six, doesn’t bother checking it

On the last ball of the 104th over of India’s innings, Lyon bowled a delivery on Sundar’s pads. The left-hander decided to go big. He went down on his back knee to get the elevation and played a slog sweep to send the ball soaring over deep mid-wicket. What was incredible was the way Sundar played the sweep. He didn’t look up after making the connection with the ball. It was an example of ‘hit the ball and forget about it’.

Sundar and Thakur bail out India to keep the match alive

Washington Sundar came to bat with India tottering at 5 for 161. Soon, the scoreboard became 6 down for 186 and India was staring at a huge first-inning deficit. However, Shardul Thakur and Sundar had a different idea.

The duo weathered the storm with a calm head and a solid defensive technique. At the same time, they punished the bowlers whenever they made a mistake. The pair scored 123 runs for the 7th wicket and bailed out India.

Playing his first Test inning, Sundar made a brilliant fifty and scored 62 runs from 144 balls while Thakur too brought up his maiden Test fifty and made 67 runs from 115 balls.

Australia broke the partnership and finished India’s resistance. India made 336 runs as Australia earned the first-inning lead of just 33 runs thanks to the daredevil bating by S Thakur and W Sundar.
