India’s bowling bench strength was badly exposed in the second ODI at the Visakhapatnam as Windies came as close as possible to defeating India, only to be thwarted in the last over. Virat Kohli batting in the class of his own raced to 10,000 ODI runs and scored a masterpiece of 157 runs but it was not enough to win the match as the game ended in a tie.

Winning the toss, Kohli chose to bat first on the Vizag track. Windies enjoyed early success and sent back both the openers inside the first ten overs. Captain Kohli alongside number four Rayudu stitched an important partnership to stabilize India. Owning up the responsibility, Kohli unleashed the beast within and carried India to 321/6 in 50 overs. Debutant McCoy and left-arm spinner Nurse grabbed two wickets each.

Opener Hemraj provided the momentum for the tourists as he opened up with a 24-ball 32. Kuldeep Yadav then brought back WI to the earth with twin blows but there was more. Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer launched an absolute assault and the Indian bowlers had no reply to it. The spinners tried pulling back the things but it all depended on the last over where WI needed 14 runs to win. Hope fought bravely against Umesh and secured a tie on the last ball.

Shardul Thakur was ruled out from the series, Umesh Yadav is his replacement.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have been added to the squad while Mohammed Shami has been dropped.
Both the pace bowlers are likely to come directly into the team.
Rishabh Pant suffered a minor injury in the last match. He could be rested if the injury is serious and Manish Pandey could get his chance in the middle order.
The choice will remain between Jadeja and Khaleel Ahmed.

West Indies:

Both Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis will not be participating in this tour and Windies will miss them sorely.
WI team handed a debut to Obed McCoy in the last match. He was effective with the variations in the match and will continue to be present in the playing XI.
After the impressive performance, WI is likely to retain their team.
