India have hammered England by 10 wickets to go 2-1 up in the India vs England 4 match test series. India needed to win the test series by not losing more than 1 test to qualify for the finals of the world test championship and they lost the very first game of the series which added unbelievable pressure on the Indian side.
But this Indian side has time and again proved that their nerves are build of steel and after losing the first game, it was expected that Indian side would comeback in style and they have lived up to their expectations.
Indian bowlers were the stars in the 3rd test and spinners in particular as they bamboozled English batsmen who had no clue whatsoever on this tricky wicket here in Motera.
The pitch has copped a lot of criticism for the way it has behaved in this game as India have won this game in less than 2 days which is a shocker to say the least. The wicket aided spinners big time and batsmen had no clue to spinners from both the sides.
Ravichandran Ashwin is one legendary spinner who can bamboozle batsmen on any kind of track and it goes without saying about what he can do on this track. He finished with 7 wickets in the game and in the process gone past through his 400th wicket and became the 2nd fastest bowler to reach the landmark.
England batsman Ollie Pope fell prey to Ravichandran Ashwin in both the innings to identical deliveries from either side of the wicket. He was bowled by the straighter delivery from around the wicket in the first innings as Ollie Pope misread the line of the ball and it was a repeat in the 2nd dig as well albeit from over the wicket.
Though, England have been knocked out of WTC, they can still level the series and go to the white ball series on a high by winning the last game. The 4th test is scheduled to take place in the same venue in Ahmedabad on 4th of March.
