Jofra Archer available for 3rd Test against Windies

After all the controversies, the news regarding the England spearhead in Jofra Archer’s return to cricket has come out and he is all good to take part in the England’s 3rd test starting Friday, 24th of July.

The pacer who broke the team’s protocols by moving out of the bio secure bubble to meet an unnamed individual to Hove on Monday which is 3 days prior to the start of the 2nd test was dropped due to the breach of the protocol.

The tearaway quick who has played 8 tests in his career so far has become the spearhead of the English attack. His ability with the ball has impressed one and all but the same cannot be said about his behavior. The pacer who was supposed to stick around with the team in the bio secure environment where no outsiders are allowed, the Barbados born went home to Hove on Monday which was against the protocol.

The ECB took immediate action and dropped the world cup winner from the squad and playing XI who was initially named in the 13 member squad for the 2nd test. This behavior by Jofra Archer could have cost “tens of millions of pounds” which would have been a disaster for ECB. Here’s what an ECB statement said,

Jofra Archer has been fined an undisclosed amount and received an official written warning after admitting to breaching the team’s bio-secure protocols on Monday 13-July when he man an unauthorized visit to his home in Hove.

The former England spinner Ashely Giles said that the ECB will stand in support of Archer during this tough time.

“Young men make mistakes..Jof will learn from it. We will support him and move on. He is a fine young man, incredibly polite, works hard and is a great asset to this team,” Giles said.

The premium all rounder Ben Stokes said, “We really need to be there to support Jofra right now.”
