Key Points:

In the last five meetings between the two football clubs, it’s Liverpool who has the edge with three wins and two draws.

Newcastle United has yet to win a game versus the Scousers since then.

The last time Liverpool and Newcastle confronted one another was at St. James Park in what was one of the games of the season as it went back and forth until finally Divock Origi chipped in with a header which led to an 86th winner. The match ended 3-2 in Liverpool’s favour.

Prediction:

With Newcastle gaining four points out of six before signing off the international break, we can expect the toons going for a point against Liverpool. Anything more would simply turn out to be a bonus for Newcastle United.

With that being said one can expect Newcastle to sit deep and hit on the counter. However, the Liverpool attack knows how to break down defence especially when it comes to playing at their very own ground.

As Liverpool stand clear favourties to win the game versus Newcastle, they will not only get three points in the league but will certainly be ready for a similar defensive strategy of sorts from Napoli for Liverpool’s first European game of the season.
