Shane Long’s condition will be assessed prior to the game. Stuart Armstrong will be on the sidelines for a couple of weeks, while, Jannik Vestergaard has returned from a concussion. Kyle Walker-Peters has recently been brought in on a loan deal from Tottenham but Ralph Hassenhuttl is unlikely to bring him on early. Yan Valery is back in training and could start at the right-back since Cedric Soares is unavailable. Danny Ings has been in sublime form for the Saints and should continue to lead the attack.

Robert Firmino has also been a real asset as the number nine for Liverpool. The Brazilian has eight goals, four assists and a pass accuracy of 79.6% from 1983 minutes in the league.
