India has been the dominant team in world cricket across formats for over 3 years now but they haven’t done justice to their talent in the ICC tournaments. India haven’t won even a single global even in the last 8 years. The lack of planning from the team management is one of the important aspect for India’s trophy drought.

The former world cup winning captain in MS Dhoni gave up the captaincy in 2016 and the world’s best batsman in Virat Kohli took over the reigns as a full time captain in the white ball cricket as well. since then the Indian captain has been receiving criticism from all the media and fans for his ordinary moves as a captain.

Kohli shouldn’t have done that- Mohammad Kaif

The former Indian player and one of the best fielders in world cricket in Mohammad Kaif is the latest one to express his disappointment over Virat Kohli’s captaincy. The lack of planning from the team management is a big headache and that proved too costly in the world cup semi finals last year where the team didn’t had any clue after losing their top order cheaply just like in the 2017 champions trophy final.

Here’s what Kaif had to say about Virat Kohli’s team selection

Kohli is doing a lot of experiments with team selection. He should not have done that. Kohli tried many combinations and even selected players who don’t have so much exposure during the last World Cup. Kohli should focus and back his team selection. If any player lost his form for some matches, still he should support him. Kohli should make the players. Then only he can create a good team

He should not be the water boy of the team!

Ever since the departure of MS Dhoni there has been a lot of experiments conducted by the team India to fill the void left by the great man and just when they were about to lock in Rishabh Pant as the permanent keeper the kings XI Punjab captain in KL Rahul was given the designation as a full time keeper leaving Pant in a deep hole as the southpaw has found himself in a terrible situation at present.

When asked about Pant, the veteran batsman voiced out his opinion in a rather striking manner

Even for the wicket keeping role, they are shuffling many players. India needs a permanent specialist wicketkeeper. KL Rahul can be a backup wicketkeeper but I don’t think he should be the main. If you want to support Rishabh Pant over Dhoni, then Kohli should back him. He should not be the water boy of the team
