The domestic One Day Domestic (ODD) competition of New Zealand known as the Ford Trophy begins early morning tomorrow. The 50-over tournament is played between six teams which represent various regions of the island nation. All six team will be in the action on the same day, we kick off with a match between Otago and Central Districts.

The Central Districts team will be missing out on few of their major players as they are called up for NZ A team and international duties. The home team has named two debutants and has given a shock recall to a player in a bid to begin the campaign on the positive note.

The opponents Otago Volts team is not facing such grave issues and has named an experienced squad. One of the surprising aspects is them naming a co-captain. Otago has named both Mark Craig and Jacob Duffy as their captains. Neil Broom has returned to the side for the opening clash.

• Rutherford will be the primary opener. In absence of regular opener, S Hicks is likely to open alongside him.

• The key decision will be for one all-rounder spot between Nathan Smith and Josh Finnie.
• Craig, Duffy, Bacon and Barnes will make up the bowling attack.

CD: 

• The team is complete new-looking. They have also named their 12-man squad and they are missing Keeper D Cleaver, Bowler Seth Rance and Adam Milne. Their Head coach is also off to international duty.
• M Ave, W Ludick and Felix Murray may make their list-A debut.
• Opener Greg Hay has been recalled, he last played an ODD in 2014.
