India emerged Victorious in the 3rd T20I after the match was decided in the super over courtesy to some brilliant hitting from the vice captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant display of stroke making.

There was a confusion before the super over- Rohit Sharma
It is not often you will get to see the world’s best limited overs bowler going at more than 11 runs per over without picking up even a single wicket. But that happened in the 3rd T20I where Bumrah had a rare off day. His figures read as 4 overs for 45 runs with no wickets. Luckily for India, the other bowlers stepped up big time which resulted in an India win.
The ICC ODI cricketer of the year 2019 revealed that even after enduring a bad day at the office, they trusted to go with Bumrah for the super over because of his ability to bowl consistent yorkers and slower ones.

Here’s what Rohit Sharma had to say about Bumrah’s super over

“Super Over you can’t really plan what to do. You have to assess what’s happened on that day.

And you send your best players. Bumrah has been one of the key players in terms of our bowling. There was no choice but there was little confusion whether to go with Shami or maybe Jadeja because the ball was gripping

But in the end you have to go with someone who’s been consistent with bowling yorkers and slower balls and things like that. We went with that and the batters as well, someone who’s had a good day will try and go out to face the challenge.”

Mohammad Shami stepped up when it mattered the most

As Jasprit Bumrah was having a terrible day at the office, it was India’s other pace bowling spearhead Mohammed Shami who pulled thing back with his magnificent final over where he gave away 8 runs when the Kiwis needed 9 to win the match. The final over was even more special when Shami came back after giving a six in the very first ball of the over. Literally Shami defended 3 runs off 5 balls which is just an insane stuff .

India might rest either of their 2 key bowlers Bumrah or Shami for the next game which is scheduled to take place on Friday
