After a humiliating defeat in test and then a clean comeback sweep in ODI, host South Africa are ready to square off against Sri Lanka in the three-match T20 series. Chokers, who were severely thrashed in Test made an incredible comeback in ODI winning with a 5-0 clean sweep. Both the teams would be looking forward to closing the series with the win. South Africa will step down on the field with their best players only for the first T20 at the Newlands in Cape Town where the final ODI was played.
After the first T20, the players will fly to India to join their IPL teams. Faf Du Plessis will be seen captaining the team in the first T20 match. There are chances that JP Duminy could also be listed in playing 11. New capped player Aiden Markram, along with two other players Anrich Nortje and wicket-keeper Sinethemba Qeshile are likely to step in the second T20, when Du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Rabada and Lungi Ngidi departs for IPL season.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka has made three changes to its squad. Suranga Lakmal makes his return after almost a year, and he played his last T20 international back in March 2018. Other two players are – Sadeera Samarawickrama and Jeffrey Vandersay.
