Sourav Ganguly taught us how to win- Aakash Chopra

The prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly took over the captaincy job at one of the most dreadful situation in the history of Indian cricket. At a time when the match fixing saga was haunting the country, one man took the responsibility and helped India to come from behind as one of the most respectable teams in the cricketing world. Here’s what Aakash Chopra had to say about Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy period.

We went to Australia and drew the series there. We went to Pakistan and defeated them. In India, we drew one series and lost one series to Australia. And Sourav Ganguly’s team even drew the series in England. It was a fairly good team, a team which taught us how to win abroad,

What Aakash Chopra thinks about Virat Kohli’s team?

The Indian cricket team has emerged as world beaters in the recent past. Ever since Virat Kohli took over the captaincy of the team across formats, India have reached great heights as far as white ball cricket is concerned. The same cannot be said for test cricket. Though India were the #1 side for a massive period of 3 years, they lost all the important moments during the crucial overseas tours which had cost them series victories in England, South Africa and New Zealand.

“Virat Kohli’s team has defeated Australia in their home conditions, the only team to have done so in Indian cricket history. But they lost in South Africa and lost quite badly in England. In South Africa, they came close but lost the series 2-1,” Aakash Chopra added
