Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has left MS Dhoni ‘shattered’: Biopic director Neeraj Pandey

The alleged suicide of talented Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has left a huge impact on the minds of all the people and it goes without saying that it affected especially those associated with him closely.

The actor practically lived as the character fondly known as ‘Mahi’ in the biopic movie on the Indian cricket team legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Both the actor and cricketer spent some time together during the movie shooting days and promotions but now the alleged suicide has affected Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a big way.

Dhoni left ‘Shattered’ : Director, Neeraj Pandey

Upon the death of the talented actor there has been a lot of posts in social media related to the importance of mental health and various other stuff. Naturally someone like MS Dhoni would have been affected by the death of his friend. Speaking about how it affected the cricketer, Director of the biopic movie which released in 2016 said MS Dhoni was ‘shattered’ when he gave a call to tell him the news. He also mentioned that the whole family was ‘deeply upset’.

Recalling one of the moments where the actor Sushant Singh Rajput spoke with cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the director said –“ I still remember that child-like smile on Sushant’s face when Mahi, after watching a training clip of the actor playing the helicopter shot on his phone, said in jest: ‘Arre tu to bilkul photocopy kar diya, Ranji Trophy khel jaoge tum’.

Will Dhoni’s mind change after the incident

MS Dhoni has taken an indefinite break from playing international cricket after the tragic loss of team India in the world cup semi finals at the hands of New Zealand. The cricketer was set to return to cricket when he wanted to turn out for his club side Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Whether this massive loss will affect the cricketer’s mindset or not and how will he cope up if and when the maestro returns to represent the nation remains to be seen.
