2019 has been a healthy year for Indian Cricket as they have achieved several historic moments such as Winning the test series in Australia, whitewashing South Africa in tests at home, completed a comprehensive win in test series against West Indies away from home. The only tough pill to swallow for the Indians was the Semi-Final defeat in the world cup. Here we update you with a complete schedule of the Team India for the year 2020 which has Marquee events with the likes of the U19 world cup and ICC T20 world cup

 

Home series of Team India for the year 2020

 

INDIA VS SRI LANKA, 3 T20Is:

This series was a last-minute arrangement from BCCI as it was supposed to be a tournament with Zimbabwe for India but since Zimbabwe had to face problems with their own cricket board and for various political reasons, Indiahad to plan an alternative series and Lankan Board has agreed to fill up the space by playing a 3 match T20I series from Jan 5 to Jan 10

INDIA VS AUSTRALIA, 3 ODIs

Australia will tour India in the mid of January for a short 3 match ODI series which is slated to get over within a week’ time starting on Jan 14th and ending on Jan 19th.

IPL 2020

The Indian Premier League will kick start in 2020 at the end of March, although the exact start date hasn’t been finalized yet, this season IPL will have even more significance and importance as to previous seasons as the T20 world is approaching in October 2020.

INDIA VS ENGLAND, 3 ODIs & 3 T20Is

The defending champions will arrive on the Indian shores for a Limited overs series which comprises of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is  England will have a point to prove this time as they lost both the T20Is and ODIs when they last toured to India in 2017. The exact dates for this series haven’t been finalized, although it is slated to happen before the ICC WT20 tournament in October.

Away Series of Team India For The Year 2020

 

INDIA VS NEW ZEALAND, 2 TESTS, 3 ODIs&5T20Is

India will be touring New Zealand in what will be their first overseas assignment of the year 2020. The series will be a complete package for the cricket fans which will see India competing in all the formats of the game. The Series is scheduled to happen between January 24 to March 4.

INDIA VS AUSTRALIA, 3 T20Is

Although this series is yet to be confirmed, Close sources say that India are certain to play Australia just before the ICC WT20 in October, so that Indian players can get used to the conditions in Australia prior to the mega event. The seriesis said to happen just days before the ICC WT20.

ASIA CUP 2020

The Asia cup is certain to happen this year in T20 format keeping in mind that the ICC WT20 will be fast approaching then. The question that remains is the participation of India in this tournament as the tournament is scheduled to happen in Pakistan. Due to the political tensions between the 2 countries, it will be interesting to see how both the cricket boards handle this situation.

INDIA VS SRI LANKA, 3 ODIS &3 T20Is

India haven’t toured to Sri Lanka since 2017 and that might change this July as Sri Lanka have Invited Indians to their shores to play a short limited-overs series. India hasn’t confirmed their availability for this series and it is expected that a decision will be made soon on this tour

U19 WORLD CUP

The U19 world cup will tale place early next year in January in South Africa where India will be looking to defend their title. India has won the U19 world cup for 4 times which is the most by any country in the world.

 

ICC WT20

The T20 world cup will happen after 4 years and it will be taking place in Australia in October next year. West Indies are the defending champions and it will be a massive tournament with epic entertainment.
