The southpaw who got hit in the head by a searing bouncer from Pat Cummins in the 1st ODI didn’t keep wickets for the Australian batting innings and was immediately taken to hospital for monitoring. The scans showed nothing major and Pant was discharged after overnight monitoring. The dashing Batsman will now head back to National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for further assessment. The new number 3 bat KL Rahul who donned the wicket keeping gloves for India in the 1st ODI will take care of the wicketkeeping duties in the 2nd ODI as well.
