The Tridents took on the SKN Patriots yesterday and were handed 6-wicket defeat. Batting first, the Tridents promoted captain J Holder at the third spot where he top-scored with 54(35). Shai Hope, Guptill and D Smith provided good support. Despite a record-breaking spell of one run, two wickets in M Irfan’s four overs, Barbados failed to defend 148 runs.

Trinbago Knight Riders, on the other hand, snatched a four-wicket win against Jamaica on 19 Aug at Florida. K Pierre and F Ahmed bowled exceptionally well but other bowlers leaked runs to concede 182 in the first innings. Colin Munro (67) and Bravo brothers scored the majority runs to bring the team home.

• Opening combo of Lynn-Narine is yet to fire at its capacity.

Barbados Tridents:

• Hashim Amla missed out yesterday’s match due to illness and Roston Chase was included as the replacement. If Amla is fit then he will take Chase’s spot.
• Martin Guptill showed glimpses of form in his yesterday’s knock.
• Mohammad Irfan bowled a dream spell of 23 dot balls and conceded a run on the last ball of his fourth over.
