The experienced right arm fast bowler from Nottingham who has played 138 tests before the start of this West Indies series expressed his disappointment after getting dropped from the team for the very first match of the series.

He showed what he is made up of and when got the opportunity in the 2nd test, he made the management to regret their decision to drop him for the 1st test as he ended the 2nd test with 6 wickets and his new ball burst on 4th day after tea which triggered the collapse of West Indies proved to be the turning point of the match.

Compilation of Stuart Broad running through West Indies

Stuart Broad came and conquered the West Indies batting line up and the Windies batters who were all hanging back in the crease had no clue to the veteran’s bowling.

The likes of Kraigg Brathwaite, Shai Hope and Shamarh Brooks who are all predominantly backfoot players were exposed by Broad who kept bowling full and there was enough movement with the dukes that exposed the batsmen’s technique. As a matter of fact, West Indies batsmen were out to leg before wicket for a whopping 19 times which shows how poor they were with their technique.

England are 3rd in the WTC points table behind their arch rivals Australia and India. Virat Kohli led India are sitting at the top quite handsomely with 2 more series under their kitty.

Can England climb to 2nd spot?

England can replace Australia in the WTC table if they whitewash Pakistan in their next series starting on August 5th. Pakistan have historically performed better in England and this 3 match series will be another mouth watering contest as both the teams have some exciting fast bowlers. The likes of Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi will be the ones to watch out for.
