The former Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik made a stupendous effort to dismiss the dangerous Ben Stokes in the game against RR in a do or die game in Dubai. KKR needed to win the game to stay in the hunt and it was no different for Rajasthan Royals as well.

Rajasthan Royals were on a 2 match winning streak before this game and they were on a high as they chased 2 mighty totals and one of them was against the best bowling attack of IPL in Mumbai Indians. Ben Stokes was the star in both the games as he made a jaw-dropping century against Mumbai Indians and a swashbuckling 50 against Kings XI Punjab. It was expected that he would steer his home for one last time against KKR but Dinesh Karthik had other ideas.

Dinesh Karthik’s inhuman effort

Rajasthan Royals needed to chase a mighty target of 192 runs to stay alive in the competition. They had the chance to even qualify for playoffs without depending on other results, had they chased 192 in 16 overs but Pat Cummins, the million dollar baby stole the show with a 4-fer and halted RR’s run chase big time.

The first over of RR’s batting innings began in a dramatic manner as Pat Cummins gave 15 runs in the first 5 balls only to dismiss Robin Uthappa in the last ball of the over. It was one way traffic from there on. Pat Cummins picked wickets at regular intervals and the wicket of Ben Stokes was the high point of the game.

Pat Cummins finished with match figures of 4 overs for 34 runs and 4 wickets that included the whole of RR’s top order batsmen.

KKR to support MI

Though, KKR have won the game, they have to wait for the result of other two games in DC vs BLR and MI vs SRH. They would want either of DC or BLR to lose by a big margin or would be wanting SRH to lose their final game to MI.
