One of India’s biggest and toughest domestic competition is the 3 month long Ranji trophy. The longest format is the toughest format in cricket and with the Ranji trophy being played as a 4 day format with the knockouts extending to 5 days, this is surely one of the toughest tournaments not only physically but also mentally.

It is a no less achievement to make even the semi finals of the tournament as this involves all the states in India who will be fighting hard to show their skills. The two teams that have made the finals are already champions in their own way.

Jaydev Unadkat’s presence of mind buys Saurashtra a wicket

As a captain Jaydev Unadkat has done all the things that the team management could ask for from a captain. The way with which he lead the team was out of the world. He had the hunger in his tummy to succeed big after having missed the opportunity to win the title last time around.

The left arm seamer finished the tournament with 65 wickets in 9 games and the 2nd best is a good distance behind him with 55 wickets.

He rescued the team each and every time when there was a trouble. On the last day of the final, he inflicted a cheeky run out that saw the end of Akash Deep.

Here is the video of Jaydev Unadkat brilliant presence of mind to dismiss the batsman.

Saurashtra moments away from lifting the trophy

The Saurashtra team has almost won the trophy after bowling out the other finalists Bengal for 381 runs thereby acquiring a 1st innings lead of 45 runs which is enough to buy them the prestigious Ranji trophy after 3 months of rigorous hard work.

After accumulating a 1st innings lead of 45 runs, Saurashtra are batting at the moment which is just a mere formality before they can place their hands on the trophy.
