Former legendary opener revealed that MS Dhoni’s knock of 54 not-out against Kings XI Punjab at Dharamshala during the IPL 2010 is his favorite. In that match, Kings XI Punjab posted a huge total of 192/3 batting first as Irfan Pathan, Shaun Marsh, and Kumar Sangakkara batted brilliantly. Chasing the total, CSK lost both of their openers Matthew Hayden and Murali Vijay early. Suresh Raina and Subramaniam Badrinath built a partnership to steady the ship but CSK lost Raina at a crucial juncture. Entered ‘the Thalaiva’ MS Dhoni with required run-rate creeping up. Dhoni played a blitz of 54 runs off just 29 balls to take Chennai home.

Hayden also went on to reveal his 2nd-most favorite moment with CSK. The left-handed opener said that the catch he took of Kieron Pollard during the IPL 2010 final off Albie Morkel’s delivery at mid-off is his 2nd-most favorite IPL moment. Mumbai Indians were chasing a target of 169 runs in the IPL 2010 final. They were struggling in the middle but West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard looked good during his knock of 27 runs of just 10 balls. He threatened to take the game away from CSK but a good-low catch by Matthew Hayden cut Pollard’s innings short and sealed the championship for CSK.
