Pakistani young sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi lit up the dead rubber contest of a Vitality Blast T20 fixture here at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. The magnificent bowling performance gave the supporters something to cheer about in an otherwise disappointing season for Hampshire.
Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi who has been modest with the ball so far in this English season gave a performance to remember for a long time. He went bang bang bang bang to grab four wickets of four balls to close out the match and the season for Hampshire as this was their last match because they haven’t qualified for the quarter finals.
The left arm quick played for Pakistan in the tests as well as T20Is against England and returned with modest figures but in his last game of the season while turning up for county club Hampshire, bagged his best bowling figures in a T20 game. While four wickets of four balls is very rare, all four of them being bowled is truly unique. He castled the stumps of John Simpson, Steven Finn, Thilan Walallawita and Tim Murtagh. Earlier he had also picked up wickets of Steve Esiknazi and Luke Hollman who were also bowled. In the end he finished with career best 6/19 off four overs and rightly bagged the man of the match award too. Watch the video of his dissmissals in the clip below.
The Rose Bowl stadium in Southampton have seen a lot of cricket after the corona virus had stopped the action for months. While the England national side won most of their games here, the home county of Hampshire disappointed its fans.
