English all-rounder Ben Stokes is a major part of the Rajasthan Royals set-up. He is yet to join the franchise for the 2020 edition of the tournament due to personal reasons. His absence was felt badly in the last match where RR top order stumbled early. Even though much information about his return is not known, RR mentor Shane Warne dropped a major hint regarding the issue yesterday.

Ben Stokes will play in IPL 2020, says Shane Warne

Till yesterday the absence of Ben Stokes wasn’t felt so badly for Rajasthan Royals. They who played both their initial matches in Sharjah cruised to victory on both occasions even without their full-strength squad. But during their third match of the tournament yesterday against Kolkata Knight Riders, their top order collapsed badly. And it was then, the absence of Ben Stokes felt badly among the team and the fans. This raised questions about his availability for the tournament. Speaking regarding the issue, RR’s mentor and legendary leg spinner Shane Warne clarified that more information about his availability is yet not known, but he is hoping to have Stokes back in the last phase of the tournament. He raised great confidence about his availability in the latter part of the IPL 2020.

“Hopefully, Ben Stokes would play a part this year, he’s a big loss and our thoughts are with him, but you know, add Ben to the team that played the other night and it looks a very very good side,” Shane Warne told PTI.

This information from Warne along with the pictures posted by Stokes of his training in New Zealand is giving hopes for RR fans of seeing the world-class all-rounder in action during this IPL.

Rajasthan Royals suffer their first defeat of IPL 2020

Yesterday Rajasthan Royals tasted their first defeat of IPL 2020. After playing their initial two matches in small Sharjah ground, they showed great problems in adapting to the Dubai conditions. The larger boundaries and the comparative slowness of the pitch haunted RR throughout the innings. Most of their batsmen played a lot of loose shot and hence they failed miserably in chasing down 175 target set by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
