One of the main reasons for India’s 3-0 drubbing at the hands of the New Zealanders in the ODI series is both the #1 batsman and #2 bowler in the limited overs cricket flopped together which dented India’s chance to win the game big time. If the best batsman and the best bowler in a team doesn’t have a great series then it would be curtains for that team more often than not.
Jasprit Bumrah who was the #1 bowler in ODIs at the start of the series slipped to #2 in the latest rankings for bowlers due to his wicket less series.
Bumrah is world class- Kane Williamson
The Indian pace spearhead and #2 bowler in the world Jasprit Bumrah looked in total mess in the recently concluded ODI series. He went wicket less in the 3 games which was the biggest disappointment for India. It is understandable that Bumrah is coming back after an injury lay off and might take time to find his rhythm but the standard he has set for himself is unmatchable that the fans and experts expect match winning performance from the champion bowler every time he steps on to the field

We know that Bumrah is a world-class bowler in all formats. He obviously came back to cricket after a period of time off as well but from what I saw, he is bowling really nicely

The Kiwis had a torrid 2 months before they whitewashed India in the ODI series. They were whitewashed in Australia in a 3 match test series where the Kiwis didn’t find any answers for the mighty red hot Australians. Then a 5-0 mauling at the hands of the Indians in the T20I series in their own backyard.
The Blackcaps are lagging behind in the world test championship table and will be looking to improve their standings in the upcoming 2 match test series against India
It is a different format but there are some parts that I guess guys will get confidence from, going into that series. So, the focus does change and the guys are looking forward to that
