Ever since the former Indian captain retired from the longest format of the game, it was expected that India would struggle to fill in the huge boots of Dhoni but luckily Wriddhiman Saha never made to feel the absence of MS Dhoni as he went about his business in a terrific manner.

The 36 year old veteran wicket keeper who didn’t had any major threat for his spot has found himself in more than a spot of bother due to the rise of the dynamic southpaw Rishabh Pant who is constantly breathing under the throat of Wriddhiman Saha.

Pant and I keep joking around- Saha

It is a very well known fact that Wriddhiman Saha is the best wicket keeper in the world at the moment but it is a primary necessity that your gloveman need to be a proper wicket-keeper batsman and not only a wicket keeper and this is where Rishabh Pant scores over the seasoned campaigner in Saha.

When asked about their competition in the Indian team, Wriddhiman Saha said

We (me and Rishabh) keep joking around. We train together and we keep talking about the game and otherwise also. He always tries to give his best. There are few things which we have had a chat about.

Wriddhiman Saha whispers words of wisdom to Rishabh Pant

The Delhi born powerhouse in Rishabh Pant hasn’t done full justice to his potential with gloves as a wicket keeper. Considering the fact that he is around one of the best wicket keepers in Saha, it is only fair that he gets to learn as much trick as possible from Saha.

Wriddhiman Saha who is well aware of the scenario that the future of the Indian wicket keeping lies at the hands of Pant, he never misses the opportunity to share his experience with Pant to groom the youngster.

I have told Rishabh a few things which he will try according to his comfort zone. He will try during training. It’s not like he will do it for one day and it will work. So, if he feels those things will work for him, he will try and implement them in his training It’s not like tips. It’s a discussion. I have told him these are things I follow and it makes my job easier. You can also try them and see if it works for you.
