The second clash of Sunday’s doubleheader in IPL 2019 will witness Chennai Super Kings taking on Rajasthan Royals in their second home game at MA Chidambaram Stadium. The defending champions CSK kick-started their campaign with 7 wickets win over RCB in the opener and thrashed Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to register their second win of the season. They will be aiming their third win in a row tonight.

On the opposite, Rajasthan Royals are still looking for their maiden win of the season. Placed at the bottom, they have faced two defeats in two encounters and would be desperate to open their account. In their first cricket match, Royals suffered a batting collapse while chasing a huge total of 185 runs against Kings XI Punjab and lost the match by 14 runs. In their second encounter, Royals suffered 5 wickets defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad despite posting 200 runs total on the board with the help of Sanju Samson’s ton.

In head to head battle, Chennai and Rajasthan have faced each other 20 times at different venues with CSK turning out to be the winner at 12 occasions. Rajasthan Royals have won 8 out of 20 encounters. While CSK has an upper hand, MS Dhoni’s side will once again be looking to their spinners to milk the pitch conditions at MA Chidambaram. In the tournament opener, we saw Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja folding up RCB at mere 70 runs with their spin abilities. The spinners looked almost unplayable at the venue and some similar is expected tonight.

Pitch Report:

The MA Chidambaram Stadium is Chennai Super Kings’ home ground. In the opener, we saw RCB folding up at mere 70 runs as failed to read the pitch. The pitch was quite rough which saw spinners coming into the action. Something similar is expected tomorrow. M Chidambaram is a slow pitch on which the ball doesn’t come that easier. Also, spinners will be more beneficial at this pitch. Usually, the pitch remains the same in T-20 cricket, the toss winning side is expected to field first and chase the target.
