The fab-4 as they say, the Indian skipper, Blackcaps skipper, English skipper and the former Australian skipper are the 4 players who can be compared to any great players from any era. Such is the class of Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, and Steve Smith. The amount of value they add to their respective teams is invaluable.
Virat Kohli-The best
The discarded Pakistani wicket-keeper in a recent Q&A session in twitter has said that Virat Kohli is the best among the fab 4.
Here’s the tweet in which Kamran Akmal declaring Kohli as the best batsman
The Indian skipper is currently the #1 in ODIs and Tests. The undisputed king from Delhi has been in the #1 spot in the 50 overs format for more than 2 years now. It seems almost impossible for other players in the world to dislodge Virat from that #1 position. Meanwhile Joe Root holds the 8th spot in both ODIs and Tests ranking for batsman.
There was a sea-saw battle between Steve Smith and Virat Kohli for the #1 ranking for batsmen in tests but Virat has safely secured that spot for now as Smith had to settle for the no:2 ranking in Tests.
The Indian skipper has another golden opportunity to solidify his position at the top in the upcoming test series against New Zealand.
One of the best innings in Pakistan’s cricket history
If there is one Pakistan player who Irfan Pathan would want to forget is Kamran Akmal. The talented wicket-keeper batsman spoiled the party of Irfan Pathan’s historic hat-trick in the Karachi Test match in 2006. Pakistan were down and out as Irfan Pathan wreck havocked Pakistan’s top and middle order with his swing which also included a hat-trick. Kamran Akmal who batted at no:8 for Pakistan in that game scored a brilliant counter attacking century which scripted one of the brilliant comebacks in the history of Pakistan cricket. Eventually Pakistan won that game by a whopping 341 runs.
