Rohit Sharma’s men have qualified for the finals after a thumping victory against Delhi Capitals here in Dubai in qualifier 1. They looked unstoppable in the game and never took their feet off DC’s throat throughout the course of the game as they choked DC like anything.

Rohit Sharma is having a terrible year as a batsmen but he hasn’t put a wrong foot forward as a captain to date. He was right up there and his bowling changes and field settings were world class and there is a reason why he is the best white ball captain for India at the moment.

Rahul Chahar gets backing from the captain

MI had to defend 200 runs to qualify for the finals of this edition of IPL and they did it with style by restricting the opposition for a paltry 143 runs thereby winning the game by 57 runs. They were clinical in each and every department of the game but one minor chink was the figures of Rahul Chahar which read 2 overs for 35 runs.

He had a forgettable outing but that didn’t cost MI even a bit and when the match was done and dusted, Rohit Sharma was seen asking Rahul Chahar to lead the team off the ground which would have given a world of confidence to the youngster after a terrible match.

Can MI defend their title?

CSK are the only team in the history of IPL to defend their title successfully and they might have Mumbai Indians accompanying them at the end of this season in that elite category. Mumbai Indians are too good for any team in the competition and it will take a herculean effort to beat them.

They just don’t have a weak point and the teams are really struggling to stop them at the moment. On paper, Virat Kohli led RCB is the only team who can match MI but that’s far fetched from now as RCB will have to beat SRH and DC to play MI in the finals.
