Steve Smith names Indian cricketer who impressed him the most in recent times

Test match batting sensation and world’s number one ranked batsman Steve Smith has decided to follow the trend set by his countrymen and many cricketers around the world by agreeing to do a question answer session in his Instagram account.

On Sunday Steve Smith decided to answer some of his fans on questions on various topics. Here are a selection of few of his  responses related to current Indian cricketers and his IPL counterparts.

Naturally on questions regarding Indian players Steve Smith had nothing but praise and appreciation for them.

A Fan asked Steve Smith to name the Indian player who impressed him the most. Steve Smith selected Indian wicket keeper batsman KL Rahul and said he’s “a very good player”. Since bagging the keeping gloves and filling in Dhoni’s boots as a #5 batsman, KL Rahul’s career has attained new heights. Coincidentally, it was against Australia that Rishabh Pant suffered a concussion and Rahul had to take up the keeping duties which paved way  for KL Rahul to ace that role.

Steve Smith also expressed his opinion on Indian skipper and world number 1 ranked batsman Virat Kohli and his limited overs vice captain and number 2 ranked batsman Rohit Sharma. He addressed Virat Kohli as ‘Freak’ for his on-field achievements and Rohit Sharma as ‘Hitman’ which is his nickname.

Steve Smith answered a fan that IPL was the the best competition that he has been part of. He also went on to answer questions regarding his IPL counterparts. For Sanju Samson, he had a rather funny word as he called the youngster as ‘Chachu’. Smith also reserved high praise on former Indian legend Rahul Dravid.
