The hard fought tournament in Ranji trophy is just 4 days away from deciding its deserving champions. Two in-form sides are battling it out and there is no shortage of intensity and star attraction as India’s no:3 batsman Cheteshwar Pujara and wicket-keeper Wriddiman Saha are playing for their respective states.

This is the 2nd final for the Saurashtra team led by Jaydev Unadkat in as many years. They missed the opportunity to win the trophy last time around as Vidarbha was too good for them in the finals. With another opportunity begging at their door, the Saurashtra team would definitely want to take the chance with both their hands.

Arun Lal not happy with the wicket for the big game

The Ranji trophy is one of the biggest domestic tournaments in the Indian cricket circuit. Though the BCCI doesn’t get any profit from the Ranji games, the amount of talent pool that gets exposed during the course of the tournament is immense.

The wicket provided for the all important final was not up to the standards as the ball was keeping low right from day 1 which didn’t go well with the former Indian cricketer and present Bengal coach Arun Lal. He was not happy with the pitch presented for the Ranji trophy final and asked the BCCI to look into this issue in a furious manner

Saurashtra in search of a big first innings total

After opting to bat first, Saurashtra started off in a steady manner but the Bengal pacers pegged back with wickets late in the day to put breaks on the Saurashtra’s score. The danger man Sheldon Jackson was dismissed very early by Ishan Porel. Sheldon Jackson was instrumental in setting up the first innings total for Saurashtra in the semi final as he scored a brilliant century.

Saurashtra will be hoping for a big knock from the Cheteshwar Pujara which he is known for.

All in all an intense day 2 from Rajkot awaits cricket the fans.
