As both players have a huge fan base, fans of both batsmen often argue who is better of the two. This rivalry could also be witnessed when both represent their respective franchises in the Indian Premier League. While Virat Kohli is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rohit Sharma leads the Mumbai-based franchise – Mumbai Indians.

Virat Kohli finished the game a maximum

In IPL 2012, when Mumbai Indians faced Royal Challengers Bangalore, two young starlets then also came face-to-face. While Rohit Sharma doesn’t bowl now, he used to roll his arm over quite often with his handy off-spinners. In the game against Mumbai Indians, RCB were cruising along while chasing only 141 after losing only one wicket in 17 overs. With only 16 runs required in 3 overs, skipper Harbhajan Singh asked Rohit Sharma to bowl. Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle scored 10 runs off the first 5 deliveries of Sharma’s over. With only 6 runs required, Virat Kohli sent over the sightscreen for a maximum after skipping out of the crease and hit the Hitman over the fence to seal the game for the Royal Challengers from Bangalore.
