GL-W vs BB-W Dream11 Match Preview: With the last week’s fixtures getting cancelled, Handball resume in Belarus this week as Gomel Womens take on BNTU-Belaz in Belarus Women-Stage II on Sunday evening (IST).
It has been a season to forget for Gomel Womens as they prop up the table, having won just 5 times in 27 rounds, losing the other 22 matches. And that’s no surprise that their current form is the worst in the league, for they have just one positive result in the last 10 games, and arrive in this match on the back of a 3 game losing run. So we can assume that this team may lack both confidence and form at the moment.
That said, BNTU-Belaz are not setting the league on fire by any means, and are only three games better than their next opponent. They have managed just 8 wins in 27 rounds, drawing one and losing 17 times. That’s not a return you would associate with a team challenging for the top spots. In fact, they are also fighting a losing battle with the gap between them and top two standing at a staggering 14 games.
Match Details: Sunday, May 17th | Time- 07:00 PM (IST) | Venue- Sport Palast
Yulia Kuntsevich is likely to start between the posts for the hosts. There could be changes at the back with Katsiaryna Silitskaya in contention to start the match, but the likes of Tatsiana Tsyrybka, Viktoriia Divak, Anna Redka and Nataliia Striukova are ahead in the pecking order and may get the first shot at starting 11 in this game.
Alesya Safonova should keep the gloves for the away side. Maryia Kanaval is definitely the star player at the back for Belaz and she should be the first name on the teamsheet due to her form. In addition, Hanna Sukhamirava, Palina Trayan and Liliya Artsiukhovich will also have to be on the top of their game.

Consdieirg both the teams are struggling in the offensive department, Maryia Kanaval may be a good pick in this game. She has been one of the few positives for Belaz in a rather disappointing season.
Nataliya Kotsina is also someone who can pull the rabbit out of the hat. She can’t be ignored as well.
Yevheniia Levchenko and Regina Kudriavtceva are also good enough to consider as captain int hsi game if you are willing to take a risk in Grand Leagues.
As we mentioned above, both the teams are struggling for both form and consistency. They have fallen so far behind the race that it’s fair to assume they are out of the title race and are playing only for their pride. This is such a game where neither teams draw confidence, but Belaz may just about edge this game out due to their relatively better form heading into this match.
