IND vs SL 2nd T20I: The 1st T20I between India and Sri Lanka was called off due to poor pitch conditions. The 2nd T20I is scheduled to happen in Indore and there will be some mouth-watering player battles to look at.
Here we take a look at 3 player battles which might define the outcome of the game
Jasprit Bumrah will be playing his first competitive game in about 5 months now. He last played against West Indies in the 2nd test and absolutely made Windies to dance to his tunes. He has fully recovered from his side strain and will be raring to go. He will be looking forward to bowl to Sri Lanka’s best batsman Kusal Perera.
The southpaw scores quick runs and absolutely loves pace on the ball. He is a sweet timer of the ball and hammers the bowlers if the ball is in his hitting zone. This will be a key battle and both the players will be embracing themselves for this challenge.
KL Rahul had a terrific couple of months and will be looking to carry his form in this series. This series probably will decide the fate of India’s 2nd opener and he surely doesn’t want to miss out on this golden opportunity. He will be facing the Veteran Malinga who will be taking the new ball.
Rahul has struggled with the moving ball over the years. If Malinga can fire his trademark swinging yorkers upfront with the new ball, it will be an eye-catching contest between the two.
The dynamic southpaw announced his return to competitive cricket by getting a century in his comeback Ranji game against a quality Hyderabad side. He will be under the scanner as he is in desperate need to prove his worth as a 2nd opener as Rahul has done enough to earn that spot.
Dhawan has struggled consistently over the years against fast in-coming deliveries. His downfall against Oshane Thomas stands as an example for his struggle against in-coming deliveries. Lahiru Kumara is a skiddy customer and has the raw pace which could trouble Dhawan big time. Lahiru Kumara can exploit Dhawan’s weakness of the balls that come into him at a fast pace and it will be interesting to see how Dhawan handles the situation.
