Twitter flooded with cricket fans tweeting about Indian young gun after the completion of the Indian innings during the 2nd one-day against Australia at Rajkot. Indian fans called KL Rahul the new version of the legendary batsman Rahul Dravid after the former played a brilliant knock of 80 runs off just 52 balls while batting at number 5th.
Cricket fans start drawing the comparisons between the two cricketers after KL Rahul was asked to bat at the number 5 in the 2nd ODI. He also is keeping the wickets for Team India in the absence of regular keeper Risabh pant after the latter got injured during the first ODI.
Rahul Dravid is regarded as one of the most selfless cricketers to ever graced the game. Throughout his career, Dravid did whatever he was asked to do. On similar lines, Rahul, in a short span, has already donned the multiple roles for the Indian Team. The flamboyant batsman from Karnataka has opened the innings, plated at number 3, number 4 and he came to bat at the number 5 in the Rajkot ODI. Just like Dravid, KL Rahul is also taking care of the gloves responsibilities behind the stumps when asked. KL Rahul and Rahul Dravid also hail from the same state Karnataka which made fans to term KL Rahul as the new Dravid.
After proving his worth as a utility player in Australia series after acting as a back-up wicket-keeper to Rishabh Pant, Rahul would be looking to continue his purple patch with the bat to put the pressure on senior players to cement his spot in the Indian Team.
